The Southern Alamance Wind Ensemble will be heading to Asheboro High School to perform for ratings at the Central District West Music Performance Adjudication Festival on March 23, 2015. This is a field trip but it is very critical that we have all members present for event and will be included in semester’s grade.
In the past we have been able to perform during the school day, however, with the number of bands performing and with our musical grade we will be performing afterschool. This may cause some headaches with logistics, but I am letting you know as soon as I could so we could arrange schedules accordingly. If there is a conflict with any athletics or clubs please let me know in advance so we can resolve issues. Work is not an acceptable reason for not attending.
Itinerary for Monday March 23, 2015
2:00- Meet in Band Room and load Buses
2:30- Depart SAHS
3:30- Arrive and check in at Asheboro High School
3:45- Assemble Instruments
4:00- Warm Up
4:30- Stage Performance
5:00- Sight Reading Performance
5:30- Pack up instruments and wait for ratings
5:45- Depart Asheboro High School
6:00- Eat at Food Court at Mall or something similar (Bring money for supper)
7:00- Depart Food Court/ Restaurant
8:00- Arrive at SAHS and unpack instruments
Cost for trip for each student (plus money for supper): $ 13.00
Cost of Gas (per mile) x2: 82.53 miles @ 1.88/per mile= x2= $310
Cost of Driver x2= $11.25/hr x 6.5 hours = $74 x2= $148
Total Cost=$633/49 students = $12.92= $13.00per each student
These students have been working extremely hard, and are dedicated to sound the best they can, even after missing 2 weeks of rehearsal due to the snow. We hope to see all of you at the Pre-MPA Concert on March 17 at 7:00pm and we would love it if you were able to attend the MPA Performance in Asheboro. It is always more fun to play to familiar faces.
